Hello, I’m Julia!

I’m a painter from Nagano, Japan with a Bachelor of Arts in Painting from the United States. My work explores my personal and cultural experience growing up in both Japan and America. I am interested in how we experience space in different ways, and how that experience shapes the way we understand life. Through the seen and unseen, I highlight our differing perspectives across cultures, how viewpoints can feel shut off and others opened up, but part of a larger network of thought.
